12 Great Desserts

Desserts should NOT be eaten with your meal. Doing so doubles your glycemic load. These desserts are intended to be eaten 2 1/2 – 3 hours after your meal. If doing so makes it such that you eat dessert without at least 2 1/2 hours before going to bed, then only have a few bites of dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth. Never eat a full serving of dessert with your meal, or too close to bed time.

All these desserts have enough protein to be a balanced “snack”. (In the few cases where the protein is a bit short, we indicate you will need to have with a glass of low fat milk for the additional protein.)
